This website gives details of not only my own ancestors but many other instances of where the name has been found. There are also some theories as to the derivation of the name and its many variants which can now be found worldwide.
The main area of research is in Suffolk, England particularly Stoke Ash, Wickham Skeith and the surrounding area. I am indebted to Peter Ellis whose own research provided a lot of data when I was starting out over 25 years ago at a time when there was little in the way of data online.
The name has now spread around the world and where online details can be found those people have been added to the growing database. However, where there are no known links you are unlikely to find any reference to them as I only keep a record when I am reasonably satisfied that a person is connected to my own family. As a case in point, you will not find any details of the early Lummis settlers in the USA as there is no positive link to my family. For more details go to World Connections for information about the Lummis name in countries other than the United Kingdom.
If you have an interest in the Lummis name, I hope that you find something useful in this website and I am always pleased to pass on any additional information I have or receive details that I have overlooked. There is an email link at the bottom of each page if you wish to get in touch.
Details of people who may be alive are not included on the website as this may breach the General Data Protection Regulations.
